Village of Progress: 710 South 13th Street, Oregon, United States
Dear TOSOC Rider,
This year marks our 5th Annual Tour Of Scenic Ogle County (TOSOC) Ride. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are making changes in how our ride will occur. We are inviting you and your family to ride TOSOC unsupported anytime between September 19th and October 18th. Use our parking lot, all the routes will be marked and we will highlight local convenience stores along the route if you’d like a break.
Here’s the 2020 Ride GPS link to both the 32 mile and 62 mile rides.
There’s no fee for this year’s ride but, as this is normally a fundraiser for the Village of Progress, donations would be appreciated. The Village of Progress works with adults with developmental disabilities and believes that everyone should be treated with respect regardless of intellectual or physical disabilities. We believe that interaction with the community, even one person at a time, has value in changing perception about those with developmental disabilities. A donation envelope is included if you wish to contribute.
As in the past, we’re still offering a TOSOC t-shirt. Note our favorite bison is now wearing a mask! Seems about right for 2020. All shirts must be ordered in advance and will be available for pick up at The Village Bakery – located at 101 N 3rd Street in downtown Oregon, IL. Our bakery (which employs folks with disabilities) is open from 7am to 3pm 7 days a week - so plan your ride accordingly. (Yes, you can also use the donation envelope to return your shirt order.) If you want to order online use the link—you must register for the free ride to purchase the long sleeve t-shirt.
We hope many of you will come out and enjoy the ride. We’d also love to see any pictures of you and your friends riding the course. Send your photos to TOSOC@villageofprogress.org.
